Renewals are usually quite straightforward and should be completed within 3 weeks. However, at busy times of the year, you should allow 6 weeks to receive your passport.
Getting a Replacement
Because of the potential fraud and other implications with issuing replacement passports, you may be expected to attend an interview, in the same way as if applying for your first passport.
Because of this, you should allow a minimum of 6 weeks to process your application.
